Alice Newton (PhD, MSc) is a Professor lecturing in coastal lagoons, coastal eutrophication, coastal management, marine management and environmental policy. She is the coordinator of the Erasmus Mundus Master in Water and Coastal Management. Alice has 35 years of research experience in oceanography, water, coastal and marine management and was the chairperson of LOICZ (Land Ocean Interactions in the Coastal Zone, now Future Earth Coasts). She has participated in numerous national and European research projects and currently leads a work package in the DEVOTES project. She has published more than 70 articles in SCI indexed peer reviewed journals, has supervised 17 PhD thesis and 53 MSc theses.
