    Mário Miguel Cardoso Mendes

    Mário Miguel Cardoso Mendes is a young Portuguese palaeobotanist. He graduated in Biology and Geology in the University of Évora, completed his MSc in Plant Biology by the Faculty of Sciences at the Lisbon University and concluded his PhD in Geosciences (Palaeobotany) in the University of Évora in collaboration with the Palaeobotany Department of the Swedish Museum of Natural History in Stockholm, Sweden. He has more than 10 years of experience in palaeobotanical and palynological studies and is author of several papers in scientific journals with peer review indexed in ISI, abstracts published in proceedings of scientific meetings and scientific communications. Currently is senior researcher at the CIMA - Centre for Marine and Environmental Research and consultant researcher at DREAMS - Development and Research in Environment, Applied Management and Space. He is affiliate of the International Organisation of Palaeobotany (IOP) and member of the American Association of Stratigraphic Palynologists (AASP). His main research interests are: history of angiosperms evolution, with an emphasis on reproductive biology, phylogeny and palaeoecology.
