Dynamics and conservation of coastal dunes

Dynamics and conservation of coastal dunes

Some weeks ago CIMA researchers (in collaboration with SPEA, MARE/UC, CHFLUL, ANIMARIS, ICNF,  and RIAS) organized the summer school on ‘Dynamics and conservation of coastal dunes’, framed in the project LIFE Ilhas Barreira. In this first edition, nearly 30 students learnt and discussed about dune habitats, their dynamics, conservation and threats 🌊💨🌾, as well as the ecology and threats of the dune plant species 🌱🌺 and seabirds🐦🦩 present at Ria Formosa. They also got the chance to see some dune management measures implemented at Praia de Faro, and even visit the wonderful Ilha Deserta 🚤 to learn more about some of our ongoing project activities!
