2ND EDITION OF THE INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL ON COASTAL PROCESSES
The Second edition of the International Summer School on Coastal Processes: “Building up knowledge on Coastal Processes: Principles and Techniques” will be held on 19-23 june, in University of Algarve. The Coast Tools Summer School concentrates on the principles and the techniques to understand and explore the dynamism of coastal systems. The second edition of Coast Tools will holistically explore beach and dune morphodynamics with special emphasis on the aeolian component of this complex system.

1ST EDITION OF THE INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL ON COASTAL PROCESSES
Building up knowledge on Coastal Processes: Principles and Techniques. Coast Tools Summer School was inaugurated in 2015 and will have a periodicity of two years. CoastTools has the objective to provide young scientists, focussing on marine sciences and coastal processes, with the principles and techniques that will allow them to explore the dynamics of complex coastal systems. The participants will gain the skills to define the morphosedimentary dynamics of sandy coasts based on field data surveys, observations and numerical modelling tools. Ultimately, it will create a favourable window of opportunity for the participants to build their own networking for future career development.
CIMA is leading the organization of the Ocean Technology Summer School. The summer school is organized every year and is designed to provide an integrated view of theoretical, numerical and experimental tools related to different areas and applications of ocean technology, such as instrumentation, observation techniques, modelling of coastal processes, underwater sound propagation, signal processing, bottom mapping and robotics. The school includes, as a fundamental component, a one day hands-on at sea.
