CIMA adopted recently a new internal organization in which all the areas of expertise can link as an added value into common-research domains. The CIMA research team will be organized into two main research domains:
The main focus of this group is to enhance our knowledge of eco-hydrodynamic processes in coastal waters (including estuaries and lagoons), the observation of the sea (through operational oceanography and remote sensing) along with the study of processes affecting coastal areas (beaches, rocky shores and inlets) and evaluation of associated risks.
This group is dedicated to increase the well-being and sustainability of our society in a context of a changing world. Its main research activities are related to climate change, environmental quality, the ecotoxicology of deep sea areas, the production of energy from marine resources and industrial wastes and the development of marine renewable energy.
